Our tip: Take the truffles out of the cool pantry about fifteen minutes before serving. This allows them to develop their full aroma and melt particularly delicately on the palate.

Metzger & Söhne – Viennese confectionery history since 1685

The history of Metzger & Söhne began in 1685 in Perchtoldsdorf near Vienna as a gingerbread and wax-bleaching shop. At that time, gingerbread panels as provisions for pilgrims and elaborately shaped gingerbread were part of the family's craft. With the opening of the shop at Stephansplatz in Vienna in 1758, refined creations with marzipan and chocolate were developed, which were also supplied to the Viennese court. This combination of confectionery craft and Viennese gift culture continues to shape Metzger & Söhne to this day.
