Propolis is the bee's natural defense system – and one of the best-researched natural remedies worldwide. Our organic propolis drops are prepared in high-quality alcohol, as propolis is largely alcohol-soluble: Only in this way can the valuable active ingredients be fully extracted. Water is not suitable, as the drops settle on the glass wall and are not washed out.

Best taken on a spoonful of honey – this allows the active ingredients to exert their full effect.

What science knows about propolis

• Immunomodulating: Propolis stimulates the activity of macrophages and natural killer cells – key cells of the innate immune system (Sforcin, 2007).
• Antimicrobial & antiviral: Over 300 bioactive compounds – including flavonoids such as pinocembrin and galangin – have been proven to inhibit bacteria, fungi, and viruses (Bankova et al., 2000; Marcucci, 1995).
• Antioxidant: Propolis has an exceptionally high ORAC value. The polyphenols it contains neutralize free radicals and protect body cells from oxidative stress.
• Anti-inflammatory: CAPE (Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester) blocks the NF-κB signaling pathway – a central mediator of systemic inflammatory reactions (Huang et al., 1996).
• Alcohol as a carrier: Alcohol extraction is scientifically the most effective method for extracting the active ingredients of propolis – water extracts achieve only a fraction of the active ingredient concentration.
