Organic Fruit
Why do we exclusively use organic-certified fruit?
Fruit is one of the most heavily pesticide-laden food groups. Citrus fruits, apples, and berries, in particular, are conventionally treated with a variety of fungicides, insecticides, and growth regulators—many of which remain detectable on the peel and in the pulp.
We have consciously opted for exclusively EU organic-certified fruit. The reason is simple: We supply food for families—and there is no compromise on that.
Organic Lemons & Organic Oranges—why citrus fruits in particular?
- Peel is also used — lemon peel in tea, dressings, or baked goods: with conventional fruits, the peel is treated with fungicides (e.g., imazalil, thiabendazole) and synthetic waxes—demonstrably cancer-relevant in animal studies.
- Organic Lemons & Oranges: untreated peel — certified without synthetic post-harvest treatment, so you can use the peel without concern.
- Higher vitamin C content possible — studies show that organic citrus fruits tend to have higher flavonoid and vitamin C contents.
Organic Apples—the most purchased fruit, with the highest pesticide risk
- Apples regularly top the pesticide rankings — the EWG (Environmental Working Group) has listed apples among the "Dirty Dozen" with the highest pesticide levels for years.
- Organic Apples: up to 80% fewer pesticide residues — according to investigations by the German Federal Office of Consumer Protection (BVL).
- No Diphenylamine (DPA) — a substance restricted in the EU for the storage of conventional apples, which is forbidden in organic products.
- AT BIO 301 certified — our apples bear the Austrian organic certification AT BIO 301, which goes beyond the EU organic standard: stricter controls, seamless traceability back to the Austrian producer, highest transparency.
Why exclusively organic—no mix?
We deliberately do not carry conventional fruit. Not for ideological reasons, but because we take responsibility: for your family's health, for the soil of our suppliers, and for a food quality that we can stand behind.
EU Organic Certification + AT BIO 301: independent control, traceability back to the Austrian producer, no synthetic pesticides, no genetically modified organisms.
